Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir strongly criticised India for its extremist “Hindutva ideology,” stating that it has made minorities unsafe not only within India but also abroad, including in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.

Speaking at the Margalla Dialogue 2024, organised by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), General Munir said, “India’s cruelty and brutality in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is also a continuation of Hindutva ideology and policy.”

He highlighted that the global rise in anti-minority sentiment linked to Hindutva extremism was increasingly becoming a concern in several countries.

The army chief also underscored Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination, emphasising that peace in the region cannot be achieved without a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations resolutions.

The Margalla Dialogue 2024 brought together policymakers, academics, and diplomats to discuss pressing regional and global challenges, with a focus on fostering dialogue for sustainable peace and development.
