Riyadh: Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has stirred rumours of his departure from Al-Nassr following a cryptic message on his social media.

Soon after the Saudi Pro League season ended, Ronaldo posted on platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “This chapter is closed! The story goes on. I’m grateful to everyone on this journey.” The post has fuelled speculation about his future with the Saudi club.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 under a highly lucrative contract reportedly worth £164 million per year. Since then, he has scored 93 goals across 105 matches. One of his key highlights was helping Al-Nassr secure the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023. However, the team fell short of winning the domestic league title.

In a recent game against Al-Fateh—potentially his last appearance for the club—Ronaldo found the net once again, showcasing his enduring performance level. Despite a loss in that match, his influence on the team remains undeniable.

While his contract runs until June 2025, reports suggest the 39-year-old is being approached by other clubs, especially with the FIFA Club World Cup kicking off in the United States on June 14. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has hinted at possible club negotiations involving the Portuguese star.
