Did Not Join February 8 Protest, Aleema Khan Says

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, admitted on Wednesday that she did not join the February 8 protest. She said that her family stayed at home instead of attending the rally. According to her, they participated in the protest in a different way. She emphasized that their support for PTI remained strong despite not joining in person.
She added that her children and her sister’s children flew kites marked with “Qaidi No. 804.” The number represents the identification of Imran Khan in jail. Aleema said this symbolic act showed their solidarity with the PTI founder. She described it as a creative way to protest safely. The action reflected the family’s support while avoiding public gatherings.
Furthermore, Aleema Khan called the February 8 strike successful. She alleged that some news reports were circulated to mislead the public. She stressed that the protest at home sent a clear message. According to her, the media attention diverted focus from the actual support for PTI. She highlighted the peaceful and symbolic nature of their participation.

She also mentioned that they will approach the Supreme Court. Aleema said they want to check reports regarding the PTI founder’s situation. She explained that Barrister Salman Safdar informed them about a two-hour meeting with Imran Khan. This meeting provided important updates and guidance.
