QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has announced a plan to provide electric bikes to working women on easy installments. The initiative aims to boost women’s mobility and economic independence across the province. The announcement came during a high-level meeting focused on reviewing the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). Top provincial officials and ministers attended the session held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. CM Bugti said that empowering women is essential to social and economic progress in Balochistan.

In addition to the e-bike scheme, CM Bugti also confirmed the launch of the Pink Bus Service, a safe transport option for women. He said new buses for the Green Bus project had already been procured and will reach Karachi Port by mid-October. The Green Bus fleet will be expanded to improve urban transport, while the Pink Bus will focus on female commuters. He directed that both transport projects be completed by October 2025 to benefit the public without delay.

During the meeting, CM Bugti gave a strict deadline to all provincial departments to complete approved development schemes by January 2026. He praised departments that showed swift progress, while warning slow performers of strict monitoring. The Chief Minister’s Inspection Team will oversee execution and quality of all projects. He stressed that serving the people of Balochistan must be the top priority for every department. Public service should be treated as a mission, not just a responsibility.

The Chief Minister also instructed officials to secure technical approvals for next year’s development schemes by May 2026. This will ensure their timely inclusion in the provincial budget. Additional Chief Secretary Zahid Saleem presented a detailed briefing on ongoing projects. CM Bugti emphasized the need for efficiency, transparency, and accountability in all schemes under the PSDP. He warned that no delay will be tolerated when it comes to public welfare projects.

CM Bugti concluded by reaffirming his government’s commitment to reduce hardships faced by ordinary citizens. He said efforts like electric bikes, bus services, and faster project delivery will make a real difference. The government wants to create a system where every department works actively for the public good. The women of Balochistan, in particular, will benefit from new transport options that offer safety, freedom, and opportunity.
