Remittances sent by Pakistanis working in European Union countries have increased by 18% during the first two months of the current fiscal year. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, overseas workers in the EU sent $857 million to Pakistan, compared to $727 million during the same period last year.

In August 2025 alone, Pakistan received $433 million in remittances from EU countries. This marks a 15% rise compared to August 2024, when the amount was $376 million. The steady growth shows the increasing financial contribution of Pakistani workers in the EU.

When compared to the previous month, remittances from EU countries in August also rose by 2%. In July 2025, the total received from the EU stood at $424 million, showing a slight but positive monthly increase.

Overall, remittances from overseas Pakistanis across the globe reached $6.352 billion in the first two months of the current fiscal year. This is 7% higher than the $5.937 billion recorded during the same period last year, highlighting the continued economic support from the Pakistani diaspora.
