Ex-Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Freed From Israeli Custody

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has confirmed the release of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed from Israeli custody. Mushtaq was detained while taking part in the Gaza-bound Sumud Flotilla mission. Ishaq Dar announced the news through a post on X. He said Mushtaq Ahmed is now safe at the Pakistani Embassy in Amman, Jordan. He added that the former senator is in good health and high spirits. Earlier, another flotilla participant, Pir Mazhar Saeed Shah, returned safely to Pakistan. He arrived in Islamabad from Doha and received a warm welcome at the airport. According to reports, Israel released 137 activists from the Sumud Flotilla mission. This group included 36 Turkish nationals. Many activists had joined the flotilla to protest the Gaza blockade.
