Flash Flood in Hasan Abdal Kills Four Women, Child Still Missing

A flash flood in Hasan Abdal swept away a vehicle carrying ten people, killing four women and leaving one child missing. The incident happened in the Jhari Kass stream after heavy rainfall caused sudden water surges in the area. Five passengers were rescued safely, but one child has yet to be found.
Rescue teams recovered the four women’s bodies during the ongoing search. Divers and emergency workers remain at the scene, searching the stream for the missing child. The family involved was returning from a wedding and belonged to Wah Cantt, according to local authorities.
Heavy rain hit Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and nearby cities overnight. The downpour caused water to rise quickly in low-lying areas, leading to flash floods in streams and drains. Many roads became dangerous, and normal movement was disrupted due to flooding.
Rescue officials acted quickly and continue their efforts despite strong currents and poor visibility. The sudden flooding took many by surprise, especially in narrow and shallow streams like Jhari Kass. Authorities have urged residents to stay away from flood-prone areas during the monsoon season.
This tragic event highlights the risks of travel during heavy rainfall. Experts say flash floods are becoming more common and deadly. Officials are now calling for better flood safety measures and stronger public awareness to help prevent future tragedies.
