In Dera Ghazi Khan, the floods coming from the Koh-e-Suleman mountains brought not only destruction but also hidden treasures. Among them were ancient relics and coins that are almost two thousand years old.

According to local reports, the floods carried coins from different historical eras. These include coins from the time of Vima Deva Kushan, along with coins from the Lodhi, Tughlaq, Durrani, Sikh, Mughal, and British periods.

Coins from Arab regions, Central Asia, China, and Khorasan were also found. The treasures were discovered in the Sakhi Sarwar stream, where locals collected them and handed them over to the authorities.

Officials said the recovered items were safely given to the Department of Archaeology through the political administration. These coins are not just pieces of metal but important symbols of ancient civilizations that once flourished in this region.

Experts believe that the engraved marks and designs on the coins highlight the rich history of the area and its role in old trade routes. Authorities have announced that further excavation will be carried out to search for more hidden treasures.
