Floodwaters Rise at Guddu Barrage, Decrease at Panjnad

The water level in the Indus River has gone down at Punjnad Headworks, according to Sindh’s Information Department. At Punjnad, both the water coming in and going out was recorded at 575,195 cusecs.

At the Guddu Barrage, the water flowing into the river was 544,658 cusecs, and the water flowing out was 514,051 cusecs. In the last 24 hours, the water level at Guddu Barrage rose by 31,996 cusecs. Officials say the water level may keep rising in the next day.

In the Kandhkot district, floodwater has completely covered the low-lying areas. Many acres of cotton, rice, and other crops have been submerged by the floodwater.

At Sukkur Barrage, the water flowing into the river was 470,580 cusecs, and the water flowing out was 422,400 cusecs. Meanwhile, at Kotri Barrage downstream, the inflow was 262,509 cusecs and the outflow was 254,354 cusecs.

The floodwater caused damage in Naushahro Feroz district, where a breach developed in the Zamindari Bund near New Manjath. Water from this breach has flooded the villages of Khadim Mangnejo and Akbar Brohi.

The flooding has trapped residents in the affected areas and damaged their crops. People stuck in these areas have requested help from authorities to rescue them.
