Gavi Donates 800 Motorcycles to Pakistan for Improved Vaccination Access

ISLAMABAD – July 23, 2025: The global health alliance Gavi has donated 800 motorcycles to Pakistan to support the country’s Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI), in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO).

These motorcycles will be distributed across 65 districts to assist vaccinators in reaching remote and high-risk areas, aiming to improve vaccination coverage and public health outcomes.

District-Wise Distribution Details:

  • Sindh: 300 motorcycles across 21 districts
  • Punjab: 200 motorcycles in 10 districts
  • Balochistan: 108 motorcycles for 24 districts
  • Azad Kashmir: 80 motorcycles in 4 districts
  • Islamabad: 80 motorcycles
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 60 motorcycles across 4 districts

According to WHO, these vehicles will enable healthcare teams to reach approximately 32 million people, improving access to routine immunisations, especially in hard-to-reach regions.
