Internet slowdown
Due to the ongoing internet slowdown and frequent disruptions in Pakistan, several international companies have begun shifting their operations out of the country. According to a report from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), WhatsApp has moved its session server routing and content delivery network (CDN) outside of Pakistan, resulting in service disruptions for users in the country.

The move has highlighted the challenges faced by Pakistan’s internet infrastructure, with many users experiencing slower speeds and connectivity issues.

Despite these setbacks, the PTA has claimed improvements in internet connectivity across the country. The authority stated that, over the past month, Pakistan’s fixed-line internet has improved by two ranks, now standing at 139th globally. Meanwhile, mobile network rankings have seen a three-position improvement, with Pakistan now ranked 97th in the world for mobile internet speed.
