Global League Rankings Surprise: The Hundred Tops IPL Despite Its High Value

The latest global cricket league rankings released by the World Cricketers’ Association have delivered a surprising outcome, placing The Hundred at the top ahead of the much-valued Indian Premier League.
According to the rankings, The Hundred secured the number one position with 75.2 points, while South Africa’s SA20 claimed second place with 68 points, highlighting a shift in the global T20 league landscape.
Despite being widely regarded as the richest cricket league in the world, the Indian Premier League managed to secure only the third position with 62.6 points, reflecting areas where improvement is still needed.
The report by the World Cricketers’ Association emphasized that while the IPL remains commercially dominant, it must enhance player rights and welfare standards to become the best league globally.
Australia’s Big Bash League ranked fourth with 62.5 points, closely trailing IPL, while Pakistan’s Pakistan Super League secured the fifth spot with 48 points.
Other leagues in the top ten include Major League Cricket in sixth place, followed by International League T20 in seventh and Caribbean Premier League in eighth position.
The rankings were rounded off by Abu Dhabi T10 in ninth and Bangladesh Premier League in tenth, showcasing the growing competitiveness and diversity of global franchise cricket.
