Government Slashes Petrol Prices

The government has announced a significant reduction in petrol prices, providing some relief to consumers facing inflation. Petrol is now cheaper by Rs 7.54 per liter, setting the new price at Rs 264.61 per liter.
Meanwhile, diesel has become slightly more expensive. The price increased by Rs 1.48 per liter, raising the new rate to Rs 285.83 per liter. This adjustment reflects international price movements and local market dynamics.
The revised fuel prices will take effect at midnight, as per the government’s bi-monthly price review policy. Fuel price changes are typically based on global oil trends and fluctuations in the exchange rate.

In addition to fuel changes, the government also cut the LPG price for August. The rate dropped by Rs 17.74 per kilogram. The new LPG price is now Rs 215.36 per kilogram, offering some relief for domestic consumers.
These changes aim to balance global oil costs while addressing local economic concerns. Officials hope the price drop in petrol and LPG will ease inflationary pressure.
