KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has said that political instability and rising inflation have changed the dynamics of the country, remarking that “when it’s time to seek votes, it’s ‘My Karachi’, but when it’s time to deliver, it becomes ‘Bye Karachi’.”

Speaking at a ceremony, the governor expressed concern over the decline of fine arts and literature in Pakistan, saying that just like other fields, the arts are also facing deterioration.

He said that theatre in Pakistan has lost its family-friendly environment and that Urdu literature is now flourishing more in Punjab than anywhere else.

Governor Tessori also announced that a monthly poetry session (mushaira) will be organized at the Governor House to promote Urdu language and literature.

Commenting on the country’s inflation and political tensions, he reiterated that these issues have “changed a lot” and affected all sectors of society.
