Smog blankets Lahore, placing the city at the top of the world’s most polluted cities list. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has crossed 1000, making it difficult to breathe in the contaminated air. Despite the green lockdown, the situation in various city areas seems to be getting out of hand.

In Pakistan Engineering Services and surrounding areas, the AQI has exceeded 1200, while Gulberg and nearby regions have also reached extreme pollution levels. Even in the Shimla Pahari area, despite the green lockdown, the AQI has recorded a staggering 1007, posing a serious threat to public health.

The air pollution rate in Defence Phase 8 was recorded as 1800, while Askari Ten recorded more than 1700. In addition, the air quality index in Pakistan Engineering Services and surrounding areas exceeded 1200, as did air pollution in Gulberg and its surroundings. The rate reached the highest level. Even in the Shimla Hills region, despite the green lockdown, the air quality index was recorded at 1,077.
