Green tractor scheme relaunched in Punjab after 12 years

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif officially inaugurated the Green Tractor Scheme, awarding ownership rights through digital balloting to Muhammad Yaseen from Okara, Talib Hussain from Chakwal, and Ghulam Akbar from Dera Ghazi Khan.
Maryam Nawaz congratulated all eligible farmers and emphasised her commitment to equipping Punjab’s agricultural sector with modern machinery. Under this scheme, 9,500 farmers will receive a subsidy of one million rupees per tractor, providing substantial financial support to farmers.
Maryam Nawaz also personally rode a tractor to review its features, calling the experience enjoyable. She expressed hope that this initiative would usher in a new era for agriculture in Punjab, leading to increased production and an improved quality of life for farmers.
