Groom Dies in Wedding Shooting Incident in Northern Turkey

A joyous wedding turned tragic in northern Turkey when celebratory gunfire struck a groom, killing him instantly. The happy occasion became a scene of mourning. Family and friends were left shocked and devastated after the accident.
The 23-year-old groom, Ali, was escorting his bride home when the stray bullet hit him. He was immediately rushed to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, he could not survive his injuries and passed away shortly after.
According to Turkish media, the gunfire came during a traditional wedding celebration. Authorities confirmed that the bullet was fired by a guest, turning a joyful moment deadly. The incident raised concerns about safety during celebratory events in the region.
Reports suggest that a 47-year-old female relative of the bride allegedly fired the shots. Security forces detained her and began a formal investigation. They also recovered two unlicensed pistols from her possession.
This is not the first time northern Turkey has witnessed such incidents. In the northeastern province of Trabzon, pre-wedding gunfire previously killed one person and injured two others. That incident led to the cancellation of the wedding, and multiple arrests were made, including a police officer.
