IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and DG FIA removed from their positions

ISLAMABAD: In a significant shake-up in Pakistan’s law enforcement, the Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Director General (DG) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have been removed from their positions.

Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, who served as the DG of FIA, has been removed from his post and transferred to an officer on special duty (OSD). The decision was made following instructions from Prime Minister Imran Khan, marking a notable leadership change in one of Pakistan’s key investigative agencies.

In a related move, Akhtar Hayat has been removed from his position as the IG of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The government has appointed Zulfiqar Hamid as the new IG for the province. These changes come amid ongoing efforts to streamline law enforcement leadership in Pakistan.
