ISLAMABAD: On February 24, a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will travel to Pakistan to talk about a new climate financing program.

Sources claim that the goal of this initiative is to assist Pakistan in mitigating the effects of climate change, which have caused immense financial losses, including a $30 billion loss two years ago.

According to sources, the new loan program will help Pakistan’s climate goals and lessen the consequences of climate change. The IMF will also examine Pakistan’s program-related climate goals and initiatives. It is anticipated that the new program will be discussed until the first week of March.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva met successfully in Dubai before their visit. Through several initiatives, such as the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement, the IMF has been assisting Pakistan’s attempts at economic reform and growth.
