Islamabad — A Sessions Court in Islamabad has acquitted former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, along with several other PTI leaders, in a case related to violating Section 144. The case, which was filed on August 20, 2022, at the Aabpara Police Station, accused Imran Khan, Asad Qaiser, Sheikh Rasheed, Faisal Javed, and others of defying the public order restrictions imposed by the authorities.

The verdict was delivered by Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood, who granted the acquittal after reviewing the pleas presented by the defendants. Along with Imran Khan, PTI leaders Saifullah Niazi, Sadaqat Abbasi, and Ali Nawaz were also cleared of charges in this case.

This decision comes on the heels of another legal relief for Imran Khan, as an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore recently granted him bail in four separate cases related to the incidents of May 9.
