Indian Athletes Top Global Doping List Third Year

Indian athletes have once again topped the global list for positive doping tests, marking the third consecutive year they have ranked first worldwide. According to the World Anti-Doping Agency annual report, athletes from India recorded the highest number of violations in multiple sports. This repeated trend has raised serious concerns about sports ethics and regulation, placing Indian athletes doping cases under international scrutiny.

The World Anti-Doping Agency released its data for testing carried out during the year 2024. The report highlights doping control results from countries across the world and shows a clear pattern of repeated violations among Indian athletes compared to other nations.

According to the report, India’s Anti-Doping Agency conducted more than seven thousand doping tests during the year. Out of these tests, two hundred and sixty came back positive, placing India at the top of the list for the third year in a row.

In comparison, France ranked second with ninety-one positive doping tests, while Italy stood third with eighty-five cases. These numbers show a significant gap between India and other countries, underlining the scale of the issue faced by Indian sports authorities.

The report also mentioned that Pakistan recorded thirteen positive doping tests during the same period. As global attention remains focused on fair play and athlete health, the rising number of Indian athletes doping cases continues to highlight the urgent need for stronger awareness, monitoring, and enforcement in sports.
