Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held a significant meeting with Member of the Canadian Parliament Talib Noor Muhammad and Mahmood Ibu, a representative of the Aga Khan Development Network in Canada. The discussion revolved around strengthening Pakistan-Canada relations and mutual areas of interest.

Minister Naqvi expressed Pakistan’s deep appreciation for its relationship with Canada, emphasising the importance of advancing bilateral ties across various sectors. “Pakistan values its relationship with Canada and is eager to further enhance our cooperation in diverse fields,” he stated.

Talib Noor Muhammad, during the meeting, conveyed a message from his Canadian counterpart to Minister Naqvi, highlighting Canada’s commitment to fostering closer bilateral relations with Pakistan.

Minister Naqvi also praised the work of the Aga Khan Foundation in Pakistan, noting the organisation’s ongoing contributions to social and economic development. “The Aga Khan Foundation is working on several key projects in Pakistan aimed at socio-economic development. We are keen on expanding the scope of our collaboration,” he said.

The two sides also discussed the issue of Afghan refugees and their relocation to Canada and other countries. Noor Muhammad mentioned that to expedite the process, the Canadian High Commission had increased staff and resources. “We are grateful for the additional visa processing staff, which has allowed us to speed up the review of applications,” he said.
