Iran vs Israel, who is more powerful?

On June 13, 2025, Israel launched a major airstrike on Iran, using around 200 fighter jets to attack over 100 important sites. The strike killed top Iranian military leaders, including Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Major General Hossein Salami, as well as six nuclear scientists. Israel said the goal was to hit Iran’s nuclear and military facilities. Iranian news confirmed the deaths and reported five civilians killed and over 50 injured.

Reports show that Iran has a larger army (610,000 troops) compared to Israel’s 169,500, but Israel has better technology, training, and stronger defence systems. Israel’s defence budget is also much bigger, and it is believed to have around 90 nuclear weapons, while Iran doesn’t have any confirmed nukes.

Iran owns more tanks and aircraft, but Israel’s weapons and systems—like F-35 jets, Iron Dome, and long-range missiles—are much more advanced and accurate. Iran has many missiles and allies in the region, but it does not match Israel’s global support and military quality. This attack has increased tension and changed the balance of power in the Middle East.
