South Africa Defeated Pakistan to Level ODI Series 1-1

In Faisalabad, South Africa defeated Pakistan in the second One Day International (ODI) and leveled the three-match series 1-1. The visitors comfortably chased Pakistan’s target of 270 runs in just 40.1 overs, losing only two wickets. South African batsmen dominated the match, while Pakistan’s bowling attack struggled to make an impact.
The game began with Pakistan winning the toss and deciding to bat first. The home side scored 269 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 50 overs. Salman Ali Agha top-scored with 69 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz made a valuable 59. Pakistan’s top order collapsed early as Fakhar Zaman went out for zero, Babar Azam scored 11, and Mohammad Rizwan managed just 4 runs.

After the early setbacks, young batsmen Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha built a steady partnership, both reaching half-centuries. Saim scored 53 before getting out, and Salman contributed 69 runs. In the final overs, Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf added useful runs, scoring 59 and 28 respectively, helping Pakistan reach a respectable total of 269.
In reply, South Africa’s batsmen played brilliantly to seal an easy win. Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten with a superb 123 runs, while Tony de Zorzi added 76 and Pretorius scored 46. The Proteas reached the target in the 41st over with eight wickets in hand. For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each.

With this victory, South Africa defeated Pakistan and leveled the ODI series 1-1. The third and deciding match will be played on Saturday, November 8, at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. Pakistan had won the first ODI, and both teams will now fight for the series win in the final game.
