Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif strongly criticized Afghanistan during a speech in the National Assembly. He claimed that Kabul had become a proxy for Hindutva ideology and stated that there was no difference between Delhi and Kabul. Moreover, he warned that Pakistan could not remain silent over growing security concerns.

Khawaja Asif said Pakistan still wanted to eliminate terrorism through dialogue and diplomacy. However, he added that if Afghanistan was unwilling to cooperate, Kabul could face consequences similar to those faced by India. Furthermore, he emphasized that Pakistan would take all necessary steps to protect its national security interests.

The defense minister stated that Pakistan currently faces the same enemy on both its eastern and western borders. According to him, the Afghan government has failed to provide clear assurances regarding efforts to stop terrorism against Pakistan. Consequently, concerns about regional security and cross-border militancy continue to increase.

During his address, Khawaja Asif revealed that Pakistan had made several diplomatic efforts to convince Afghanistan to cooperate on counterterrorism measures. He also said that Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey supported Pakistan during negotiations. Despite these efforts, no major breakthrough was achieved.
