Islamabad Police Summon Individuals Over Alleged Social Media Propaganda

ISLAMABAD: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has issued notices to 11 individuals accused of spreading false information on social media with the alleged intent of creating unrest in the country.

As per sources, a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) is investigating the matter and has summoned several individuals, including Sabghatullah Virk, Muhammad Arshad, Atta-ur-Rehman, Azhar Mashwani, Uroosa Nadeem Shah, Muhammad Ali Malik, Shahzaib Virk, and Musa Virk, to appear on December 24. Notices have also been sent to Iqram Kathana, Taqweem Siddique, and Muhammad Noman Afzal.

The investigation team is reportedly examining the motives behind the individuals’ online activities, as well as their possible affiliations. Authorities claim to have substantial evidence to support the allegations, with further suspects being identified as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The JIT is said to be working under the relevant legal framework to address concerns over the spread of misinformation and its potential impact on public order.
