Italy’s offer to expand olive cultivation in Chakwal

Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, met with the Italian Ambassador Marile
na Armellin, who praised the lively spirit and hospitality of the people of Lahore. The Italian ambassador offered to expand olive cultivation in Chakwal, which is seen as an important step to strengthen Punjab’s economy.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz invited Italian investors to invest in public welfare projects in Punjab, stating that the Punjab government seeks to enhance cooperation with Italy across various sectors. She added that Italy’s investment, especially in livestock and dairy projects, would help foster mutual economic relations.
During the meeting, discussions also took place on increasing collaboration in the fields of culture, tourism, textiles, leather, marble, and carpets. The Italian ambassador remarked on how much he enjoyed visiting Pakistan, especially Lahore, and highlighted Pakistan’s beauty in contrast to the false negative propaganda.
Maryam Nawaz emphasised the importance of simplifying work visas and the active role of the Trade Commission in promoting trade. She mentioned that the trade commission has already started working on initiatives to boost mutual trade, with more steps to be taken soon
