Headline: Josh Duhamel Open to Ransom Canyon and Virgin River Crossover—If It Feels Right
Fans of Netflix’s Ransom Canyon and Virgin River have been buzzing about a possible crossover between the two hit series. Now, Ransom Canyon star Josh Duhamel is responding to the idea. In an interview with US Weekly, Duhamel revealed it was the first time he had heard of the concept. However, he said he’s open to it—under one condition.
“If it’s good, I’m in,” Duhamel said. “If it’s forced, no thanks.” The actor emphasized that story quality would determine his involvement. While Netflix has not confirmed any plans, fan excitement continues to grow. The two shows share similar emotional tones and small-town settings, which has fueled crossover speculation.
Duhamel also shared updates on Ransom Canyon season 2, which begins filming soon. “I just got the scripts,” he said, noting that he hasn’t read them yet. However, early feedback from crew members has been promising. “They say it’s fantastic. They liked it even better than last year,” Duhamel added.
He hinted at major drama ahead for his character, Staten Kirkland. The new season will explore tension between Staten and his father over property decisions. Duhamel also teased more emotional conflict between Staten and Quinn, played by Minka Kelly. “She’s just fantastic in the show,” he said, praising his co-star.
While a crossover remains uncertain, fans can expect more intensity in the upcoming season. Duhamel’s enthusiasm for the scripts and cast signals strong momentum for the series. Whether Virgin River enters the picture or not, Ransom Canyon seems set to deliver another dramatic season.
