Karachi Authorities Crack Down on Illegal Cattle Markets Ahead of Eid

Karachi: Authorities have intensified their operations against illegal cattle markets in various parts of the city ahead of Eid. A major crackdown was carried out by Sachal Police in the Safoora Chowrangi area and its nearby localities as part of the ongoing enforcement campaign.
The action comes following the imposition of Section 144, which prohibits the establishment of unauthorised cattle markets in public spaces. During the operation, several makeshift cattle enclosures were removed, and dozens of animals were confiscated.
At least 10 individuals were arrested for violating the ban, and four FIRs have been registered so far in connection with these illegal activities.
City officials have issued strict directives to law enforcement agencies to ensure that no unauthorised cattle markets operate in Karachi, especially in the lead-up to Eid. The administration aims to maintain order, reduce traffic congestion, and ensure the safety and hygiene of residential areas during the busy festive season.
Authorities have urged citizens to only use designated cattle markets for buying sacrificial animals and warned of legal consequences for anyone involved in setting up or supporting illegal setups.
