Karachi Man Torture Case: Main Accused Salman Farooqi Arrested in Defence Incident

KARACHI – The main accused in a recent torture case, Salman Farooqi, has been arrested by Karachi police following the assault of a citizen in the city’s upscale Defence area, near Khayaban-e-Ittehad.
South DIG Ali Raza reported that Salman Farooqi was apprehended soon after his driver and security guard were arrested in the same incident. Authorities have also confiscated the vehicle involved in the assault.
The incident gained public attention after a video of the brutal attack went viral on social media, sparking outrage and calls for swift action. The footage showed a citizen being subjected to severe physical abuse, prompting a police investigation.
DIG Ali Raza confirmed that a formal case has been registered against all involved parties. “The suspects will be dealt with according to the law,” he said, assuring the public that justice would be served.
Sources revealed that the police acted promptly to detain the suspects and are continuing their investigation to uncover further details surrounding the case.
