Karachi to See Thundershowers in Next 24 Hours

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted thundershowers in Karachi over the next 24 hours. This comes as a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea has intensified into a Depression. While most of Sindh will remain hot and dry, Karachi, Badin, Sujawal, and Thatta expect partly cloudy skies with chances of rain and wind. The PMD also warned of rough sea conditions along Sindh’s coastal belt. Overall, the weather will mostly stay hot and dry across Sindh.
The Depression is located 440 kilometers south of Karachi over the Arabian Sea. The Met Office predicted high waves and rough weather in the sea. Winds are expected to blow between 45 and 55 kilometers per hour. Due to these conditions, fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into deep sea waters until October 3. Local officials in Sindh have also been directed to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
The weather department has urged authorities to prepare for possible impacts of the Depression. These include strong winds, heavy rainfall, and rough sea conditions. Precautionary measures aim to minimize risks to coastal communities and fishermen. The PMD continues to monitor the system closely. It will provide updates as the situation evolves.
Meanwhile, the country is preparing for an unusual extension of monsoon weather. Two major weather systems, one from the Arabian Sea and another from the Bay of Bengal, are converging. This convergence could trigger widespread rains, thunderstorms, and cyclone-like conditions across Pakistan. The situation remains under close observation by weather authorities and emergency services.
In summary, Karachi and nearby coastal areas face possible thundershowers amid rough seas. Authorities have issued warnings to ensure public safety. The PMD advises residents to stay updated and follow safety guidelines. The weather situation could change rapidly in the coming days. Citizens should remain vigilant and prepared for adverse weather conditions.
