Korean Actor Song Young Kyu Found Dead in Car

South Korean actor Song Young Kyu was found dead in his parked car near Seoul on Monday, August 4. He was 55 years old. A close acquaintance discovered his body around 8 a.m. inside a vehicle at his residential complex. His sudden death shocked the Korean entertainment industry and fans worldwide.]
According to South Korean news agencies, police found no suicide note or signs of foul play at the scene. Officials confirmed that an investigation is ongoing. However, they believe the exact cause of death will only be known after the autopsy results. Authorities continue to gather details but say the situation remains unclear.
Song’s passing comes shortly after a drunk driving incident in which he was involved. In that case, he drove nearly three miles under the influence of alcohol. His blood alcohol level exceeded the limit that would normally result in a licence cancellation. The incident had serious consequences for his professional life.
Following the controversy, producers removed Song from three acting projects. These included two drama series titled The Defects and The Winning Try and a stage play, Shakespeare in Love. His sudden removal signalled a pause in his career just weeks before his unexpected death.
Despite the scandal, Song was known for his strong performances. He played a memorable role as the Chief in the 2019 box-office hit Extreme Job. His recent appearances included roles in Netflix’s Narco-Saints and the Disney+ series Big Bet, where he gained wide recognition.
