Lahore: Following a recent tiger attack incident in Johar Town, the Punjab Wildlife Department has completed a detailed survey of private big cat ownership in the Lahore region.

According to Deputy Chief Wildlife Ranger Adnan Work, the survey revealed that 39 individuals collectively own 198 big cats, including lions and tigers, all officially declared.

However, the report also identified 15 illegally kept big cats, which have since been seized by authorities. Notices have been issued to all owners, regardless of legal status.

The Wildlife Department has granted big cat owners a two-month deadline to improve safety measures and ensure full compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
