Lahore Court cancels arrest warrants for actress Nazish Jahangir in fraud case

LAHORE: A local court in Lahore has revoked the arrest warrants issued against actress Nazish Jahangir in a fraud and intimidation case.
Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Shabbir Sial presided over the hearing, during which Nazish Jahangir appeared alongside her lawyer, Barrister Harris Sohl. The court cancelled the arrest warrants following the submission of bail bonds worth Rs 50,000.
The case was filed by actor Aswad Haroon, who alleged that he had lent Jahangir Rs. 2.5 million and a car for a period of two months. However, he claimed that despite the deadline passing, neither the money nor the vehicle was returned.
Haroon further stated that he had initially sought help from the police but did not receive justice. As a result, he turned to the court for assistance in recovering his assets.
The case was registered in 2024 under Section 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Defence C police station. According to the complaint, Haroon and Jahangir were acquainted through the showbiz industry, and the financial transaction took place based on their professional relationship.
Haroon also claimed that Jahangir had arranged a meeting at a farmhouse, but instead of meeting him personally, she allegedly sent a man named Sikandar Khan. Haroon alleged that Khan threatened him, warning him against approaching Jahangir again.
With the arrest warrants now cancelled, the legal proceedings will continue as the court examines the case further.
