In a series of targeted operations against drug trafficking, law enforcement agencies in Pakistan have seized large quantities of narcotics and arrested several suspects, including women.

 

The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to combat the rising threat of drugs, particularly in and around educational institutions.

Lahore: Over 56 Kg of Cannabis Seized from a Rickshaw in Raiwind

In Lahore’s Raiwind area, police intercepted a rickshaw on Manga Road and recovered 56 kilograms of cannabis hidden inside the vehicle.

The rickshaw driver, identified as Manzoor Ahmed, was taken into custody after drugs were discovered during a routine search. A case has been registered, and the suspect has been handed over to the investigation team for further legal proceedings.

Rawalpindi: ANF Raids Near Educational Institutions, 12 Arrested

In Rawalpindi, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a series of operations targeting drug supply networks operating around colleges and universities.

According to ANF officials, 12 individuals, including three women, were arrested. Authorities seized 245.56 kilograms of various narcotics, with an estimated street value exceeding Rs. 25.1 million.

Mansehra: 700 Grams of Hashish Recovered Near College

In a separate ANF operation near a college on the Karakoram Highway in Mansehra, officers recovered 700 grams of hashish and arrested one suspect.

The operation specifically targeted those supplying narcotics to students.

Jamshoro: 2 Kg of Ice Seized Near University, Passenger Arrested

In Jamshoro, Sindh, ANF officials searched a passenger bus near a university and recovered 2 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) from a commuter.

During initial questioning, the suspect admitted to selling drugs to university students in the area.

An ANF spokesperson emphasised the organisation’s commitment to eradicating drug networks that prey on youth:

“Protecting students from the dangers of narcotics is our top priority. We will continue to carry out strict operations around educational institutions under our zero-tolerance policy.”
