Man Arrested for Harassing Mexican President During Public Event

Mexico City: A man has been arrested for attempting to harass President Claudia Sheinbaum during a public gathering in the Mexican capital, authorities confirmed.

According to international news agencies, the incident took place in Mexico City during the president’s interaction with the public. The moment was captured on video and quickly went viral across social media platforms.

The footage shows the man approaching President Sheinbaum and trying to kiss her, before being swiftly restrained by security personnel and taken into custody.

Police later stated that the suspect appeared to be intoxicated, and an investigation is underway.

In a press conference following the incident, President Sheinbaum said:
“This is something I have experienced as a woman, but it’s something all women in our country go through. If I don’t file a complaint, where does that leave the rest of Mexico’s women? If someone can do this to the president, what about all other women?”
