Peanut-Shell Turtle
In the United States, the Department of Conservation marked the 41st birthday of a turtle with a peanut-shaped shell. The celebration was held at the Powder Valley Conservation Nature Centre in Missouri. Families, children, and visitors joined the event with excitement.

During the celebration, organisers arranged several fun activities for the public. These included making cards, colouring sheets, learning about waste, and eating turtle-shaped snacks. The event aimed to spread awareness about wildlife care and the dangers of pollution.

Officials explained that the female turtle has a shell shaped like the number “8.” This unusual shape was caused during her youth. As a baby, she crawled into a six-pack plastic ring used for soda cans.

The plastic ring squeezed her shell and affected its growth permanently. Despite this, the turtle has survived for decades. Her story has become a symbol of resilience and the ongoing fight against plastic waste.
