Mitchell Starc Retires from T20 International Cricket
Australia’s senior fast bowler Mitchell Starc has officially announced his retirement from T20 international cricket.

According to Cricket Australia, Starc made the decision in order to focus fully on the Test and One Day International (ODI) formats. The 35-year-old pacer had not played a T20 international since last year’s World Cup and will now continue representing Australia only in Tests and ODIs.

However, Starc confirmed that he will still take part in domestic T20 leagues, including the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In his statement, Starc said Test cricket has always been his top priority. He added that playing T20s for Australia was a memorable experience, with winning the 2021 T20 World Cup being the highlight of his career in the shortest format.

Starc represented Australia in 65 T20 internationals, where he claimed 79 wickets.
