Mohammad Abbas Reaches 800 First-Class Wickets, Joins Legendary Pakistan Pacers

Mohammad Abbas, a fast bowler from Pakistan, has now taken 800 wickets in first-class cricket. He reached this mark while playing for Nottinghamshire in England’s County Championship. Abbas took three wickets against Somerset, earning him a place among Pakistan’s top fast bowlers.
He is now the fifth Pakistani pacer to achieve this milestone. Imran Khan leads the list with 1,287 wickets. Wasim Akram comes next with 1,042, followed by Sarfaraz Nawaz with 956. Waqar Younis had also taken 800 wickets. Abbas joins them after just 198 matches.
This season, Abbas has done well for Nottinghamshire. He has taken 25 wickets in seven games at an average of 22.04. Before this, he played four seasons for Hampshire, where he took 180 wickets at an average of 19.07.
Abbas has also played 27 Test matches for Pakistan. He has taken 100 wickets in those games, with five five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket match haul. His average in Tests is an impressive 23.18.
This new record shows Abbas’s consistency and hard work in red-ball cricket. His name now stands beside Pakistan’s greatest fast bowlers in history.
