Moon Sighting Committee Meets in Islamabad to Decide Shawwal Crescent

A crucial meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is underway in Islamabad to determine the sighting of the Shawwal moon. The session is being chaired by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
Alongside committee members, representatives from the Meteorological Department and SUPARCO are also present, providing scientific and weather-based insights to support the moon sighting process.
The committee will review testimonies received from across the country regarding the visibility of the crescent. Reports from various regions are being collected and evaluated.
According to sources, zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees are also holding meetings in their respective areas, forwarding their findings to the central body.
Meteorological experts have briefed the committee on the birth of the moon and the likelihood of its visibility, which will play a key role in the final decision.
After verifying all received evidence, the committee will announce whether the Shawwal moon has been sighted, which will determine the date of Eid ul-Fitr in Pakistan.
Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad is expected to make the final announcement at the conclusion of the meeting, eagerly awaited by the nation.
