NADRA Launches Smart Pakistan Origin Card with Simplified Application Process

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an easy process for obtaining the new Smart Pakistan Origin Card (POC). The card is aimed at foreign nationals of Pakistani origin and their eligible family members.

According to NADRA, the Smart POC is designed for those who have acquired foreign nationality after holding Pakistani citizenship. It also covers foreign nationals whose parents, grandparents, or close relatives are or were Pakistani citizens, as well as foreign spouses of Pakistani nationals.

Applicants must start the process using the Pak ID account of a parent, sibling, or child. After logging in, they should select ‘Apply for ID Card’, then ‘My blood relative’, choose ‘No’, and finally select ‘New POC’ to proceed.

The application requires personal details, biometric verification, a photograph, and supporting documents. Processing times vary, with the executive category taking seven days, urgent taking 12 days, and normal applications requiring 30 days.

Once approved, the Smart POC is delivered directly to the applicant’s address. This step ensures convenience for overseas Pakistanis and their families.

The Smart POC offers several benefits, including visa-free entry to Pakistan, property ownership rights, independent residence, and access to banking and employment. It also speeds up immigration procedures, making travel and settlement in Pakistan easier for its holders.
