A new formula is being proposed to break the ongoing deadlock surrounding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 hosting. According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has emphasised the need for an equality-based solution that would apply to all ICC events for at least the next three years.

The PCB has suggested that matches involving India be played in Dubai, while Pakistan’s matches during events hosted in India should be held at neutral venues. This proposal aims to ensure fair treatment for both countries while upholding their respective dignity and stature in the cricketing world.

The PCB’s stance highlights Pakistan’s priority to maintain respect and equality in its relationship with India. The proposed changes are not only intended for the Champions Trophy but are also aimed at influencing the format of all upcoming ICC events over the next three years. Furthermore, there are suggestions to introduce this new model under a different name, rather than continuing with the existing “Hybrid Model.”

An official meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to take place today. There, detailed discussions will be held to finalise the solution and end the current deadlock.
