No talks will be held with TTP: Khawaja Asif

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has made it clear that no talks will be held with TTP. He said the recent dialogue in Qatar was only with the Afghan Taliban, not with Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who are responsible for attacks inside Pakistan.
Speaking on Geo News, Khawaja Asif said that former PM Imran Khan had supported talks with TTP, but the current government has not held and will not hold any such talks. He added that those who kill Pakistani children cannot be forgiven or negotiated with.

He also mentioned that implementation of the Pakistan-Afghanistan agreement will be discussed in upcoming talks in Istanbul. The atmosphere of talks in Qatar was positive, and both Qatar and Türkiye helped build trust during the process.
Khawaja Asif confirmed that TTP leaders are hiding inside Afghanistan and living among the civilian population. He said there is clear evidence that TTP terrorists receive orders from within Afghanistan.
