Noman Ali wins the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for October 2024.
Pakistan’s left-arm spinner, Noman Ali, has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for October 2024, following his match-winning performances in Pakistan’s historic Test series victory over England.
The 38-year-old bowler played a crucial role in Pakistan’s 3-0 triumph over England in the three-match Test series held in Multan and Rawalpindi last month. Noman’s outstanding bowling display helped Pakistan secure a dominant position in the series, taking a remarkable 20 wickets at an impressive average of 13.85 across the second and third Tests.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) recognised Noman Ali’s exceptional performances by nominating him alongside South Africa’s pacer Kagiso Rabada and New Zealand’s spinner Mitchell Santner for the prestigious Men’s Player of the Month award.
Noman expressed his gratitude after being named the winner, saying, “I am delighted to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month and deeply grateful to all my teammates who helped me put my best performances forward to help Pakistan win a historic home Test series against England.”
In the second Test, where Pakistan set a target of 297 runs for England, Noman Ali was instrumental in dismantling the English batting lineup. His destructive bowling performance ensured Pakistan’s dominant victory, which was pivotal in securing the series win.
Noman’s achievement highlights the growing impact of Pakistan’s spin attack and solidifies his place among the best bowlers in world cricket.
