Global oil prices have jumped sharply following an Israeli airstrike on Qatar. The sudden escalation in the Middle East has created fresh concerns in international markets, leading to uncertainty in oil trading and supply chains.

After the attack, the price of WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude oil rose by 0.6%, reaching $62.63 per barrel. Brent crude also saw a 0.6% increase, with the price now recorded at $66.39 per barrel. Experts say any tension in the Gulf region directly affects energy markets due to its key role in global oil supply.

This increase has brought new instability to global financial markets, as investors react to the potential risks of a wider regional conflict. With oil prices already under pressure from various geopolitical factors, the latest developments are expected to keep markets volatile in the coming days.

The strike reportedly targeted a residential building in Doha during a meeting of Hamas leaders. While top leadership survived, six people were killed, including the son of senior Hamas figure Khalil al-Hayya. In response, the Qatari Prime Minister has vowed a strong retaliation against Israel, further heightening tensions in the region.
