Overseas Pakistani Group Offers Over Rs 1.25 Trillion for PIA Privatization

An overseas Pakistani group, Al Nahyan Group, has made an offer exceeding Rs 1.25 trillion for the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The group has sent an email to the Minister for Privatization, the Minister for Aviation, the Minister for Defense, and other relevant authorities, proposing to settle PIA’s debts amounting to Rs 250 billion.

The Al Nahyan Group has assured that there will be no layoffs of PIA employees and has proposed a phased 100% salary increase over 30 months. The offer includes a comprehensive business plan for the national airline, promising the inclusion of modern aircraft in the fleet. Additionally, the group aims to transform PIA into an engineering and maintenance hub for other airlines.
