Rawalpindi: At the prestigious Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, held in the United Kingdom, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) earned global acclaim by securing two major awards, distinguishing itself amongst the world’s top air forces.
During the Air Chiefs’ Conference at RIAT, PAF’s professionalism, operational excellence, and the eye-catching designs of its aircraft were widely lauded by international air force leaders.
On this significant achievement, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, congratulated the PAF contingent and stated: “Raising the national flag high on the global stage has always been the hallmark of the Pakistan Air Force. “These prestigious awards are a testament to our unwavering professionalism, technical competence, and relentless pursuit of excellence.”
Marking its debut appearance at RIAT, the JF-17 Thunder Block-III won the coveted “Spirit of the Meet” Trophy, an honour reserved for the aircraft that best represents the spirit, innovation, and excitement of the air show. The award highlights both the technological sophistication and operational capabilities of the JF-17 program, while showcasing Pakistan’s growing presence in global aerospace innovation.
Adding to the national pride, PAF’s C-130H Hercules, featuring a striking special livery themed “Eyes in the Skies”, won the “Concours d’Elegance” Trophy for the best-presented and best-maintained aircraft at the show. The artwork and presentation drew widespread admiration from both judges and spectators.
PAF has previously won honours at RIAT in 2006, 2016, and 2018, and its latest achievements further cement its reputation as a world-class air force. The performance at RIAT-2025 not only showcases Pakistan’s aviation excellence but also serves as a symbol of national pride and accomplishment.
