Pakistan Army Rescues Stranded Tourists in Skardu After Heavy Rains and Landslides

Skardu: In a swift and heroic response, the Pakistan Army successfully rescued a group of tourists stranded due to heavy rains and landslides in the scenic region of Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. The rescue operation has been widely praised by the affected tourists, who expressed deep gratitude for the Army’s timely intervention.
The tourists, who had travelled from Karachi to explore the Deosai plains, were caught in flash floods caused by relentless rainfall. Their vehicles were submerged, leaving them trapped in a dangerous and remote location.
One female tourist shared her harrowing experience, saying, “We came from Karachi to visit Skardu, but at Deosai, flooding trapped us. Our vehicles were submerged, and we were left helpless. Thankfully, the Pakistan Army rescued us immediately.”
She added that both she and her fellow traveller fell seriously ill during the ordeal. It was the Army’s helicopter that airlifted them to safety, a gesture she said was beyond words in gratitude and relief.
The rescued tourists highlighted how the Army provided not just transportation to safer grounds but also medical assistance and food. “They took care of everything. Their professionalism, humanity, and dedication cannot be expressed in words,” the woman said.
Tourists emphasised their trust and confidence in the Pakistan Army, saying that whether it’s a natural disaster or any unforeseen emergency, they feel secure knowing the army is always ready to respond.
