Pakistan Introduces Official Process for Age Modification on Passports

Lahore: Pakistani citizens seeking to update their date of birth on their passports can now follow an official procedure established by the government. The process requires applicants to first modify their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) before requesting changes to their passports.
Step-by-Step Process for Age Modification
To ensure accuracy, applicants must update their CNIC or NICOP details with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). Once these documents reflect the correct birthdate, individuals can visit their nearest passport office to submit a modification request.
Authorities may conduct a verification process to confirm the authenticity of the changes. In some cases, applicants may be required to provide supporting documents such as a birth certificate or academic records, like a matriculation certificate.
Updated Fee Structure for Passport Issuance
After the CNIC/NICOP correction, applicants must apply for a new passport. The fee structure, based on validity and number of pages, is as follows:
For a five-year passport:
- Normal (36 pages): Rs. 4,500
- Urgent (36 pages): Rs. 7,500
- Normal (72 pages): Rs. 8,200
- Urgent (72 pages): Rs. 13,500
- Normal (100 pages): Rs. 9,000
- Urgent (100 pages): Rs. 18,000
