Pakistan Likely to Extend Airspace Closure for Indian Flights by Another Month

The Government of Pakistan is expected to announce another one-month extension of its airspace closure for Indian aircraft, with a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) likely to be issued later today.

Pakistan initially restricted its airspace for Indian flights on April 24, following the Pahalgam incident, and extended the restriction on May 23. According to sources, the current NOTAM is set to expire today (June 23), and authorities are preparing to issue a fresh notice to continue the ban for an additional month.

The airspace restriction specifically targets Indian aircraft, while Pakistani airspace remains open for other international flights. The measure is intended to safeguard Pakistan’s airspace amid ongoing tensions with India.

The upcoming NOTAM will outline the details of the extended restriction period and affected air routes.
